The term ‘Rebel’ says it all! This has been pegged as the ‘world’s smallest and lightest APS – C DSLR’. SL stands for Super Lightweight. The internal components have been shrunk to provide a circuit board which is much smaller in size, smaller shutter technique, the sensor module is visibly thinner.

Pros:

  • It feels natural on small and medium sized hands
  • Achieves desired photo and video quality
  • Fast and pretty accurate focus

Cons:

  • Quality deteriorates at ISO 800 levels
  • Mono onboard sounds
  • Considered to be highly priced for the features offered

Conclusion:

It is labelled as an excellent entry level Canon DSLR camera. Travel friendly due to it’s size. It provides good quality of photo and videos.

Canon EOS Rebel T5i EF-S 18-55 IS STM Kit

The camera offers some excellent enhancements such as smooth grip, rotation mode (360 degrees) dial, real-time shooting with filters andLive preview. The speed and quality of focus is quite good. It has a good reckoning amongst professional photographers given that the predecessor T4i also had good features to showcase.

Pros:

  • Good Touch screen with Vari angle
  • Excellent still photographs
  • Improved burst mode photography

Cons:

  • No WiFi connectivity
  • Not the best design

Conclusion:

It is considered very good Canon DSLR camerafor still photography. The video capturing ability has improved but there are issues which needs improvement. The predecessor had a good reckoning among professionals.

The sensor of this camera provides good quality auto focus performance. It is quite fast and accurate in focus. It is slim in features, but is streamlined with it’s target market. It won the Editor’s choice award from Digital trends.

  • Very good quality image – still photos and videos
  • Technologically advanced DSLR

Cons

  • AF assist lamp missing
  • Wireless connectivity conflicts with movie mode
  • Not travel friendly – designed on the heavier side
